I’d like to attend Fantastic Fest this year. If you know anybody looking for that kind of thing from this kind of guy: it’s February. Holler when it’s appropriate.
Every year I do cover the festival remotely, I find another pocket of its schedule to admire; for 2025, that was the Fantastic India program, a series dedicated to short films made by directors hailing from the Indian diaspora. Why would a genre fest in Austin, Texas dedicate time, space, and resources to such a block? Why not? I spoke with one of the programmers, plus a couple of the directors, involved in the series, for JoySauce.
