It’s always a delight speaking with Anya Taylor-Joy, and by that I mean I’ve spoken with her twice in four years. I’m telling you this to avoid the appearance of putting on airs; it’s not like we talk all the time or anything. But she is a delight, and so is her director for Emma., Autumn de Wilde*, and I had a wonderful time interviewing them both about my favorite least-favorite subject (Twitter) and how jealous I am of Emma to grow up in a time when social media didn’t fucking exist.
Honestly, this all came about due to recent events involving the director of Deathgasmdoin’ a casual racism online. So in a weird way I’m indebted to Jason Lei Howden’s atrocious behavior for the incredible conversation** I had with Anya and Autumn. Regardless, this is the kind of thing I aspire to with my interviews, so I truly hope you dig it.
