Sometimes words fail me and I fall back on an old standard for describing my feelings on a movie. This is one of those times. Saloum kicks ass. Lots of it. There aren’t many 2021 films that kick as much as as the amount of ass Saloum kicks. (The Paper Tigers comes to mind.)
I knew I wanted to check out Saloum based on the logline, but I really had no idea what I was walking into, and that’s probably for the best. Whenever this movie makes its way into theaters or on demand, do yourself a favor and don’t read any reviews – except for mine, because why else are you here?
