“Another Clunky, Graceless COVID Movie, ‘Life Upside Down’ Squanders Its Stir-Crazy Cast”

I would not say that I hated, hated, hated Life Upside Down, but I also would not say that I admire it or appreciate its existence as anything other than an outlet for its stars to vent through. Look: There are lots of bad COVID movies out there. There will be other bad COVID movies in the future. But there are some good COVID movies, too*, Language Lessons, for instance. You should watch that one. Don’t watch this one. I cannot believe I am telling people not to watch a movie where Bob Odenkirk is a horny cad and Radha Mitchell’s only job is to be restless, but sexily so.

My full review is posted over at Paste Magazine Dot Com.

*Acknowledging now that “COVID movie” is a very broad categorization that can include movies directly about COVID, movies where COVID is metaphor, and movies that have nothing to do with COVID on any level other than being made during COVID.
