“‘Dalíland’ Is a Depressingly Normal Biopic of a Surrealist”

I genuinely have no idea what the hell to tell you about Dalíland that isn’t already part of my review, mostly because my specific memories of the film are stuck all the way back in June. All I can say is: What the hell are you doing, Mary Harron? It is baffling to me to see the director of American Psycho, an all-timer in the movie canon of disturbed male psyches, fumble the bag on anything, whether the story of Charles Manson (see: Charlie Says, or rather don’t) or the story of Salvador Dalí.

You can read my review at Paste Magazine. You’re better off. All I remember is Ben Kingsley’s throaty bullfrog pronunciation of “Gala.”
