“‘The Creep Tapes’: You’ve Never Seen a ‘Craigslist Killer’ Quite Like This”

Me, signing off on my Zoom call with Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass for The Creep Tapes: “I appreciate the time that we had together, and also that Mark is not in the house with me with an ax, because we generally know how that ends up.”

Mark: “Yeah, I’ll see you tonight.”

Boom.

I’ve spoken with Patrick before about his 2015 one-two punch of The Overnight, one of the greatest one-joke films of its decade, and Creep, one of the greatest found footage-slash-analogue horror films of its decade; I’ve never had the chance to speak with Mark. So speaking to them at once for The Creep Tapes, their miniaturized TV series version of the Creep movies, was a pleasure. And also scary! (Note: Mark did not show up at my house that night, and has not shown up at my house on any night since, though I still sleep with my closet doors open.)
