“5 Must-See Movies You Overlooked in 2024”

If you read the article I’m about to link at your face prior to me linking it*, then you have an edge over a majority of other readers; you heard about Tomás Gómez Bustillo’s Chronicles of a Wandering Saint through me earlier in the year. Congratulations! I bet you feel pretty keen right about now.

If you’re reading the article now, having skipped over these words I am currently writing for your amusement**, then you may instead be wondering how a Joshua Oppenheimer film can be justifiably categorized as off-radar. (You may also know his name on account of the times I’ve covered his work and spoken with him. Double keen!) The thing is, The End is the kind of big swing critics claim they want and then spurn when they show up in their screening rooms, and so, despite the glossy poster and impeccable cast, the movie went “bye bye” early on in the crush of awards season in spite of all its merits.

So I put it on this list here. Nyah. Deal wit’ it. You can read the full thing over at this neat new site, Pop Heist, whom I recommend you support as much as you can, because all new media outlets in this day and age need all the love they can get. (The freelancers who work for them do, too.)

*At, as I said,  your face.
**What the hell, reader.
