What is it like, to “hear” color? It’s like listening to Skeletá, the new record from Swedish metal maestros Ghost – you know, the guys who go on stage and perform in masks and makeup and outfits modeled after the accoutrements of the Catholic clergy. I will admit that this kind of 80s-centric style is a lower priority for me than the aggressive grinding of bands like Labryinthus Stellarum, but damn if I don’t get caught up in it anyways when it’s done this well; the opening track, “Peacefield,” got me hooked, track three, “Satanized,” kept me there, and then track six, “Cenotaph,” knocked me on the floor.
