“Heist Guide: Shudder”

Making a good streaming service that competes with the other vanilla flavored streamers – the ones that appeal to all sensibilities and preferences – is enough of a challenge, given the standard issue requirements for such an enterprise, a’la licensing and establishing a membership tier system that suits the customer rather than swindles them. But making a specialty streamer, that caters to a specific category of viewers? That’s a good deal harder*.

And that’s why I think Shudder deserves as many high fives and “atta boys” as it can get, because it’s done this whole “horror streaming service” thing better than anyone else** for a long time.

You can read my full guide over at Pop Heist.

*At least on paper. Maybe I’m wrong, and maybe when your streamer deals only in one genre or aesthetic, you’re strolling down Easy Street. Somehow, I don’t think so.
**Which, hey, I’m an egalitarian guy; many of those competitors, like Screambox, are really damn good, too.
