“Everybody Loves Alien Sex: ‘Touch Me’ Star Olivia Taylor Dudley On The Sundance Sensation”

There is no poster yet for Addison Heimann’s Touch Me, so I did the next best thing here instead, and used the poster for Dude Bro Party Massacre III, a film I associate with Olivia Taylor Dudley and her preternatural ease at maneuvering through horror cinema.

I wonder often if I’m the only person who looks at Dudley and sees the heir to Barbara Crampton’s crown; they look shockingly alike, their “shocked” or “hello!” expressions in particular. Dudley also occupies similar space in horror as Crampton, with appearances in splatter-comedy and pseudo-erotic extradimensional kink-fests. Dude Bro Party Massacre III falls under the former banner; Touch Me, the latter.

Given that I’ve never talked with Dudley before we Zoomed a couple weeks ago*, I declined to bring up the subject. Maybe one day I will. For now, I’m pleased to have spoken with her about the arc of her career to date, and how Touch Me fits into that arc. You can read the full conversation up at Fangoria.

*And given that traffic had me showing up late to the call, huffing and puffing like I’d bee running a marathon when actually I’d just been buying produce and Cheddar Bunnies, I didn’t feel like pushing it; she was gracious enough not to judge me for showing up on the line like a hurricane shaped like a bull blowing through a pottery studio.
