“Even ‘Paddington in Peru’ Feels Political at This Moment”

I thought – I assumed – that I would end up writing about Paddington in Peru‘s out-of-left-field Fitzcaralldo reference as a means of introducing Antonio Banderas’ character; I thought I might could instead write about Olivia Colman, crushing it as a daffy comic relief nun (who turns out to be a devious and hot villain by the end). But no. No. The bratty Cheetos-dusted ape currently smearing the country’s walls with fistfuls of his* feces is on my mind no matter what I watch, so I wrote about, y’know, what I wrote about instead. I hate it here.

But you won’t hate my piece about Paddington in Peru! Just as I do not hate that it’s up at The Daily Beast.

*And, fair’s fair, Elon Musk’s, too.
